Family Occasion

Two weeks ago we celebrated my Grandmothers 75th birthday. This is her! She would HATE this picture, though. I know she would claim that she looks "sad". I, however, like it. I think she has an interesting face and this picture is a great example of it. Sorry Grandma, but I had to post it!
Around dessert time I started to take some pictures with my camera sitting on the countertop. I focused on the objects on the island and snapped numerous pictures as people walked around. This one happened to be my favorite. I love the movement around the image and the startling bright yellow flowers in the middle.

START

I was at START on the Street this past Sunday and I did a little "pitcher takin'" while I was there. This was one of the last pictures I took of the day. The sun was starting to set and it was giving this girl a beautiful halo effect. I took a few quick shots of her and ended up really liking this one. I am unhappy that it is not entirely in focus, but I liked the image enough to post it anyway.

I found myself taking a lot of pictures of the children with their faces painted. This one girl was standing in front of a custom motorcycle and her family was trying to take a picture of her. Once she noticed me, a stranger taking her picture, she stared intently at me and her family could not get her attention. I loved the contrast of this hard, tough looking bike next to this soft and sweet little girl.

Apartment Door

So I created this blog and it was really bothering me that I did not have any photos on it yet. So, even though I have yet to figure out how to manipulate my prints through Photoshop, (like how to burn in that top left corner!) I figured I would post an image i took his summer. This is not for class Frank! This is just an image I took this summer as I was helping my brother move out of his apartment in Boston. This was his first apartment, and so I thought he might want some pictures of it as a keepsake. He was not living in the friendliest area, ut the gate on the door probably gives that away.
